Buildings 28 and 29 of Central Queensland University’s (CQU), Rockhampton Campus house the School of Engineering and provide one of CQU’s most successful degrees. Following major ambitious educational changes within the University Department, funding was sought from the Federal Government to enable the upgrade of the Engineering facilities and allow the CQU to seek higher certification and in turn improve academic courses on offer. Through a competitive process, CQU appointed Paynter Dixon and JCP as the D&C team to undertake the complex refurbishment. The scope included workshops, research spaces, training areas, flexible teaching studios and the dated and worn building facade.
