The construction of a new Sports Hall at Woodridge State School was conceived as part of the Building the Education Revolution program, with the densely populated site seeking to enhance much of its dated infrastructure with a new addition that would offer students for the first time covered space suitable for Physical Education.
The project was affected by site constraints, stakeholder approval and increased infrastructure and services impacts. This severely affected the ability for JCP working directly for the Contractor to deliver a design focused outcome. Rather the project sought to achieve a value for money outcome that met budget and functional objectives. Although not outwardly sophisticated in its design, the project reflects the ability of JCP to work within the means of a brief and budget to rapidly deliver a high quality, value for money outcome. The buildings form, materials and colour scheme were a derivative of the architectural aesthetic established by recent buildings on site and a direct reflection of stakeholder consultation.
